In October 2024 the Advanced Drama class at Saratoga High School was invited to spend an hour with Teresa Veramendi exploring what it means to be a director

Running from October through December 2024, Silicon Valley Shakespeare Education Manager Kristin Hall worked with the English Department at Saratoga High School to provide 16 workshops to 250+ 9th and 10th graders. The focus was on how to bring Romeo & Juliet and Julius Caesar off the page and into life.

Kristin holds an M.A. in Shakespeare Studies from the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, and a Master of Library and Information Science degree with a youth studies specialization from SJSU.

In November 2024 Ryan Backhus spoke to Redwood Drama Club to give students an insight into the craft of writing plays.

A Senior at Saratoga High School, Ryan has been writing for around 10 years and has won awards writing for both screen and stage. He is currently in rehearsals directing A Stop In Time, a self-penned play which is his Senior Honors project.

Post high school, Ryan plans to focus on screenwriting in college.
